Ezekiel-Mosaics

B9's Mosaics In this photo our class B9 were making a yin and yang out of tiles. The Topic of this creativity was from our teacher, Whaea Breeze because we had an art week during week 1 of term 3. The person who thought of the Yin and Yang was Dominic. The materials that we used were tiles, liquid nail, a tile cutter, a hammer and a big round  piece of wood. A mosaic is like making a big, huge puzzle, which was exciting. Whaea Breeze then got small groups of students from B9, to work on this amazing piece of art . Here is an example of what it's going to turn into. This is what we have done so far.

Mosaics What did you do? For art this term I am making a mosaic. A mosaic is a big  picture made out of tiles. When you put them together it makes a big image. My jobs were to  put the tiles on the mosaic with the glue, sorting out the colours of the tiles a nd spacing the tiles evenly.  What materials did you use? The materials that we used were tiles, wood, a spacer, liquid nail glue, a big wooden circle and a hammer.  W hat did you enjoy about doing this activity? What I enjoyed most about this art activity were smashing the plates, helping glue the tiles, and doing the sun of the mosaic.

Birthday Party In the holidays, I went to my cousins birthday party. I went with my mum, dad, brothers and my sister. My sister was dressed up as Cinderella and I was dressed up as Belle from beauty and the beast. M y two brothers were dressed up as the beast. When we got there we played on the bouncing castle. After playing on the bouncing castle, we sang happy birthday to Sophia. Then we had a big feed, I had chop sewy and potatoes. My favourite part of the birthday party was singing happy birthday because Sophia wanted me to cut the cake with her. Her cake was awesome because it looked like her. It was purple and had a picture of her and I on it. That is why she wanted me to cut the cake with her.

Extreme Entertainment Wairau   One fresh, chilly morning, I tried to ignore my loud alarm clock. As I got out of bed I shivered, “Brr...Brr," and then I had a shower to warm up.  Once I had finished getting ready, I got in my granddads massive car. It’s so big I struggled to get in. I was exhausted! It was about a 15-20 minute drive, I saw some beautiful brilliant and bright flowers in the neighbourhood of Mangere. We finally reached our location of Roscommon School. My granddad said, "bye!” I replied, “bye!” Then I sat in the seniors line because all the year 5's and up get to go …. TEN PIN BOWLING! And so time went by and our bus arrived at 8:45 sharp and our bus took 2 whole hours to travel to our destination. When I say whole I mean WHOLE because it is in the North Shore. The seniors went ten pin bowling. While we were playing I got a strike, I came 3rd. I was so happy. After that we went to have some lunch. Then we went to play on this massi...

My Trip to Vietnam My family goes to Vietnam every 7 years. The last time our family went was when I was 2 years old, so I didn't remember anyone. Can you guess how old I am? The flight was 10 hours long, a boy in my class Mustafaa he went to Thailand. His one was 14 hours... I'm lucky. All I did in the plane was watch movies like Diary of the Wimpy  Kid. The thing that I hate most about planes are the landings, its super bumpy. When we landed the first thing people asked me was, "do you remember me?" I just lied, I said, "Yes." I don't know why? I think it is because I felt bad that I forgot them. After arriving we got into a taxi for a ride. It's boiling hot at night time in Vietnam but in the taxi it was freezing because of the air con. The ride was 2 hours. During my trip our family went on this boat on this river called Mekong river. We went under bridges. We went to this place where you can swim and you can ride bikes over the wat...

BALLOON CAR Last week, B9 had to create balloon cars made by cups, straws, bottle caps and rubber bands. We had to make sure that the balloon car could do the following 4 things that are, making the car go more that 5 feet, we had to make sure that the air from the balloon had to push the car forward, the car must travel in a straight line and the car must be sturdy and not fall apart. One problem my group faced was making the wheels move. We solved this problem by cutting the hole a bit bigger. Have you made a balloon car before?
